Confederate Railroad
July 19th, 2025
Confederate Railroad is a Southern country rock band that rolled onto the national scene in the early 1990s with a blend of rowdy energy, heartfelt ballads, and unapologetic Southern flair. Formed in Georgia in 1987, the group first gained traction as a backing band for outlaw legends like David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck before breaking out on their own. Their self-titled debut album went double platinum, fueled by hits like “Queen of Memphis,” “Trashy Women,” and “Jesus and Mama”. Known for their gritty vocals, driving guitars, and a sound that straddles honky-tonk and rock, Confederate Railroad has remained a staple on the country circuit for decades.
